Save Big Tax $ by Purchasing Computer Equipment in 2012!
We at Cantrell’s Computer Sales & Service want to remind you to take full advantage of the expiring 2012 tax breaks. Small businesses can save significantly on taxes by purchasing in 2012 many types of “business equipment,” including computer hardware and software purchases. This tax break will end December 31, 2012.
Some of my business customers are approaching me to purchase computer equipment this year to take advantage of Section 179 of the IRS tax code. This tax code currently allows you to deduct 100% of the purchase price when purchasing your computer equipment and off-the-shelf software this year.
Please keep in mind that to qualify for this current Section 179 deduction, the equipment listed below must be purchased and put into use between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.
Also, for partial business use (equipment that is purchased for business use and personal use) generally your deduction will be based on the percentage of time you use the equipment for business purposes. For more information, go to:
